I'm seeing the same things. It's like people never get tired of it.

Hearts. Splatters of blood. Water droplets. Converse shoes. Angled face shots. Clown makeup. Tears and crying. Etcetera.

It's all the same. I come here to look for something new and interesting, but there isn't really a way to filter out all excess/mainstream/annoying/clichéd photographs. I sometimes come here for inspiration of some sort. To do anything. But now I'm just browsing through and getting annoyed.

Why are people so into the types of things you can easily find almost anywhere else on the internet? Even the "conceptual" photographs are a bit cliché. I like the ideas, but the way they were presented was too similar to things I've already seen.

I know they're doing more than just pointing and shooting, but serioiusly...I think a little more thought could be put into it. Candid shots are an exception though...but if it's candid, then let it express its own meaning. Taking a shot at random people (lol) won't let us know what's going on and won't make us care.
Same goes with taking a picture of a random empty road that looks like all the other empty roads. It will not speak to us any more than the first one did (it's really just the first one that matters to me...unless the copied idea was done SO differently that I have to admit to liking it).

As I say this, I'm thinking about how pathetic my own photographs are. Macros everywhere. Of plants. Of insects and animals. Granted, there are some that I am very proud of and would defend them if I were to be vexatiously criticized...and granted, I have done more than just macros. I think the only reason why I do them is because that's the only thing I really know. I'm trying to figure out ways I can either make it different from others, or just branch out a little more and experiment.

And here I come back to this idea of inspiration. Maybe this just means that the rest of the world needs some inspiration too.
